Bloomfield High School varsity basketball vs. Irvington, Feb. 11, BHS won, 57-55, Essex County Tournament quarterfinals at BHS

No. 3 seed Bloomfield celebrates after rallying past No. 6 seed Irvington. Bloomfield trailed 14-0 to start the game, but mounted a comeback in the second half. The Bengals' John Varner made an inside shot and was fouled to pull Bloomfield within 55-54. Varner missed the subsequent free throw, but teammate Ahmid Henderson grabbed the offensive rebound and scored to give Bloomfield its first lead of the game, 56-55. Bloomfield stopped Irvington on the ensuing possession. Isaiah Dockett made 1-of-2 free throws for a two-point lead. Dockett then stole the inbounds pass to seal the victory.
